Mike Rapchak Jr. General A genuine classic, Tim. Is this the original incarnation of NS 2862? 12/19/2004 5:59:54 PM
Louis Brzuchalski General INFO ON FORMER NKP 432 IS SAME AS I RECORDED AS I WORKED ON THE NKP IN TOLEDO, OHIO, HOMESTEAD YARD. NS 2862 IS A FORMER SOUTHERN #2862 GP-38-AC. 1/25/2005 5:14:33 PM
Tim Darnell General Thanks Louis, good detective work! I pulled the slide (and magnifier!) and will correct! 1/25/2005 8:12:23 PM
Louis Brzuchalski General Data for NW 231: Built as NW 231, GP-35, 4-64, serial 29231, order 5665, frame 5665-17. 3/21/2005 8:16:28 PM
Brent Jackson General N&W had trackage rights on Conrail and D&H all the way to Attica? Didn't know that.... 1/15/2006 4:14:15 PM
Charlie Wood General Where were you standing to get this shot? On top of the depot? 3/30/2008 12:33:07 PM
Tim Darnell General Shhh! I climbed the signal! 5/28/2008 7:14:27 AM
Paul Bishop General It was trackage rights for the D&H, not the N&W. The D&H was leasing locomotives from N&W, which was their corporate parent at the time (Dereco). 4/14/2009 9:56:32 PM
Tom Beckett General D&H acquired trackage rights on the CR Southern Tier Line at CR startup, April 1 1976. This was to provide some competition in the northeast, and allow a "friendly" connection to the west for D&H. NW run through power was common, everything from GP 9's to SD45's. I'm not aware of any NW units leased to the D&H on a formal basis. 1/11/2011 3:31:09 PM
Tom Beckett General Still a cool shot, and I love the signals for the Attica Branch. I think they may still be there. 9/12/2019 3:35:48 AM
